Isn't for everyone, but...
Poetworld isn't for everyone. But if you don't need a lot of bells and whistles, still yearn for the FreeWeb, have a bit of net savvy, and don't mind saving money, this ISP is a very good choice. For price, personality, reliability, simplicity, clarity and yes speed, I give poetworld.com four thumbs-ups.

Mr. Cougar
Pros: Not Saying :)
Cons: Not Saying :)
Alright, I gave the same reviews, just so I do not mess up what you started :). Even though they are very nice compared to msn!

I really appreciate the kind review and the kind words you have for myself and my staff.

We have added a few things that I hope will help out the service and it's word of mouth philosophy. I currently am working on a project for August for a few free computers, and possibly a trip for 2 to Hawaii. This in hopes to woo some new customers over. In addition, since earlier this year, we give each user a free month if they make a paid referral, being someone who gets another to signup for at least a month.

In all, it has been an awesome journey. People like Mr. Cougar, who take time to do these editorials, and who really research everything out, should be commended for all of this work. When I began not as an entrepeneur, but as a fellow free dotcomer who appreciated those little services like netzero and bluelight, I found out that while many of you want the freedom to not have to pay for Internet Access, you want someone to care about your needs as a customer. The way business is moving, especially on the Internet, it is ever becoming the opposite. Customer service is non existant, except for those undescriptive emails you receive with general tips.

That being said, I started an Internet Provider. We are not the best, I never say we are. You could email me on even the most off of days, and you would still receive a recommendation for other providers if we cannot provide what you require. I think that is what the public needs, even moreso after Enron and the others is honesty, the ability to admit mistakes and the hope those mistakes will help improve your business and you personally.

I know on this site, you probably do not receive responses from owners very much, but why shouldn't you? I mean, they are ultimately the one's that see your money, yet they are so distant from their public.

I do not want to sit here and advertise, but I wish I could give a customer service award to our tech staff. They deserve more money then they are paid, and I only wish I could provide it to them... Someday, maybe :). If you do ever check us out, I fully recommend you call our technical support to signup. I even have former AOL customers who email me who let me know that our support people are some of the nicest they have ever spoken to. It's not just one person, it is the whole staff, from supervisors to trainees.

Again, my most sincere thanks to Mr. Cougar, and his glowing review of us, and I can always be emailed personally at steve@poetworld.net if anyone has a question for me :)

Poetworld
Pros: Once good but now overwhelmed, defensive and catastropy-prone.
Cons: Lose all emails, crash for days, serious double billings
This used to be a decent virtual ISP. All the real lifting was performed by dnbsi for poetworld. When poetworld decided to chnage isp vendors the poetworld clients found themselves locked out, (kind but ignorant support couldn't say what was happening), all their email lost (on multiple occasions over weeks and weeks), the owner is increasingly defensive and surly. Support questions (sweetly put even) are not answered anymore for days. Double billings done by his people are declared "Force Majeure" by the owner who then refuses to help straighten out his people's errors. Owner too oftens cringes behind and cites his "Terms of Service" as often as Bush says "Tax cuts for the wealthy" as the answer to every question. Question: You've billed me twice for the same month?" "Answer: "Force Majeure! It is your problem! Read the Terms of Service" which of course say nothing of the kind.
I believe this ISP should be avioded until they are stable for at least three month. I've used them for over a year and the last four months have been very unstable, like watching a brain tumor on steroids. Very sad, but to be avoided.

poetworld.net
Pros: Simple and okay, a long time ago.
Cons: Not reliable, sevice deteriorated to become undependable.
I can't rely on this service anymore.
I have had to change to another more serious isp to get my work done.

Poetworld now breaks more than they fix on their own home site. Many links don't work. Especially their Support links which all give 404 errors! They changed their real network supplier, but when they send brush-off condescending replies to sincere requests for help, they always refer the client to their Terms of Use which are in error! And still refer to their old network supplier. Even their excuses have errors.
They just now lost all my email. I have received no reply when I asked what hapenned.
Avoid.

Problems resolved... Be happy to give the naysayers free time?
Hey everyone.

I know you had some bad experiences when we were being switched back and forth to other networks. It was a bad time for my business and subsequently part of the reason I sold it back in November 2003. I had my customers at heart and wanted to make sure they didn't experience those pains any more.

Essentially I was screwed by the people above me who refused to let me transfer email, dialup and everything off of the old company and to something I felt was best for my customers.

Things have stabilized and I would love to have you give us another try.
