| The remote access phonebook file and the current Network and Dial-up Connections configuration are probably inconsistent. If you changed your communications equipment (such as your serial port or modem), make sure you reconfigure Network and Dial-up Connections. If the error persists, delete and re-create the connections in Network and Dial-up Connections. |

This is a known bug in Windows XP. If this happens, just restart your computer.
If you still have the error, delete the dialup connection, restart the machine and create
the dialup connection again. If the error persists, you need to remove the modem:
go to Control Panel -> Phone and Modems -> Modems tab. Highlight your modem,
and click on Remove. Close everything, restart your computer and Windows will
reinstall the modem.
